Las Vegas, NV — Five Finger Death Punch has announced the first dates and on-sale detail of a broad North American itinerary for THE WRONG SIDE OF HEAVEN headline tour.  The excursion kicks off on September 15th at the Aftershock Festival in Sacramento, and will run for more than thirty dates.  Escape The Fate and Miss May I support, with Gemini Syndrome opening the show.  The first appearances will go on-sale the morning of July 20, and details are available here:http://www.fivefingerdeathpunch.com/tour/.

BARONESS

Baroness’ live version of Cocainium, a track from the band’s upcoming Live at Maida Vale EP, is streaming now via Pitchfork. Cocainium is one of four songs from the band’s breakthrough album Yellow & Green that the quartet recorded during a July 2012 performance at Studio 4 Maida Vale) on BBC Radio 1’s Rock Show. The Live at Maida Vale EP is slated for a July 23 (July 22 in the UK) release via Relapse Records with the track listing as follows:

The EP will be available on an extremely limited edition 12″ vinyl, with the B-side featuring a silk screen of John Baizley’s beautiful and iconic artwork. Baroness, who recently completed their first round of live U.S. performances since the release of Yellow & Green with stops at Bonnaroo and Orion Festival, return to the road in late July with upcoming performances at Lollapalooza and FYF Fest. Pearl Jam will release their much-anticipated tenth studio album, Lightning Bolt, on Monkeywrench Records/Republic Records on October 15, 2013 in the US. Internationally, the album will be released on October 14, 2013 and distributed by Universal Music Group International. Produced by Brendan O’Brien, Lightning Bolt marks Pearl Jam’s first studio album since the highly acclaimed Backspacer,which was released nearly four years ago in September of 2009. 

“GWAR B-Q Beer”

Everyone’s favorite alien overlord and lead-throat thing of GWAR, Oderus Urungus, will take a brief break from his arctic slumber to get “fucked up with the fans” for the debut of the “GWAR-B-Q Beer”.  The beer was created from a recipe by Rob Chalmers especially for the upcoming GWAR-B-Q (August 17^th in Richmond,VA).  But as a special treat for the fans Oderus himself will be travelling (via bat-shaped helicopter, of course…) to Ybor City, Florida to officially debut the brand-new, mind-altering product.

“This is another milestone on the road leading to the GWAR-B-Q, the new GWAR album, and the brand-new GWAR show we will be putting on tour this fall,” said the hardest-partying front-creature in rock. “I am looking forward to meeting with the fans, getting incredibly wasted, and then vomiting all over them. Then we will sell that!”

The event, which is presented by GWAR, Cigar City Brewing, Crowbar Live and DMD will feature free samples of the all new “GWAR B-Q Beer” as well as Brutal Burgers topped with GWAR-B-Q Sauce.

If the 33-1/3 rpm LP was presented a birthday cake, it would have 65 candles!   The LP (long-play) record was developed by CBS Laboratories, and introduced to the world by CBS’ Goddard Lieberson on June 20th, 1948. The growth of LP sales in the 60s and 70s transformed the record business, generating large profits, and the LP restored the industry to the prominence it had held in the early 1920s, before radio was introduced.   The LP, in many ways, is “back” today, enjoying a renaissance among wide-range of listeners, many of whom weren’t alive during Vinyl’s heyday in the 1970s.  The LP may be 65 this year, but it’s far from retired.

Baltimore, MD: In the spirit of community and collaboration, Record Store Day is happy to co-sponsor, with promoter, 24-7 Entertainment, a brand new music festival: THE SHINDIG.

This is the first festival Record Store Day has sponsored and RSD co-founder, Michael Kurtz, says, “Over half of the Shindig’s featured bands have made special limited edition Record Store Day releases so it makes total sense to return the love and show our support for them and The Shindig. We’re glad to help get this awesome festival off the ground.”

The one-day music event will go down at Baltimore’s Carroll Park in Historic Pigtown on Saturday, September 14^th with an eclectic lineup to feature the Dropkick Murphys, Joan Jett and The Blackhearts, The Gaslight Anthem, Clutch, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Reverend Horton Heat, The Hold Steady, Jimmie’s Chicken Shack, Larry and His Flask, The Glenmont Popes, Bad Seed Rising, and a Local Band Contest Winner TBD.

Paul Manna, chief talent buyer of 24-7 Entertainment, says, “Having Record Store Day put their public stamp of support and approval on this first year festival means a lot to me. As a fan of every artist on the festival, I can say, with confidence, thousands of live music lovers will truly appreciate this lineup as much as we do.”

Bryan Burkert, proprietor of Baltimore’s #1 indie record store, The Sound Garden echoes, “The Sound Garden is proud to be a part of The Shindig Festival. We’ve been drinking PBR and rocking out to these bands for twenty years in our record store. What a lineup!”

And as for the artists themselves, Jean Paul Gaster from veteran Baltimore-area rock band Clutch enthuses, “We look forward to seeing all our friends and family at this years Shindig. Get out there early and check out all the bands. It’s gonna be a great time!”

The all-day event will feature two identical main stages with no over-lapping sets of music. The vending village in The Woods will be the home of the Ripley’s “Believe it or Not” Side Stage featuring rare talent and oddities continuously entertaining throughout the day and evening. A section of The Woods will also include a diverse offering of Baltimore’s best food and beverage options with plenty of seating and shade available.  

Carroll Park is located 1/2 mile from Camden Yards, M&T Bank Stadium, I-95, and I-395. To eliminate any parking concerns, 24-7 Entertainment has reserved several large, secured parking lots that border the festival grounds. Parking passes, which are recommended, can be purchased online, in advance.

Los Angeles, CA (July 3, 2013) – Two-time Grammy®-nominated rock band SKILLET have entered Billboard’s Top 200 Album Chart at No. 4 and iTunes Rock Album Chart at No. 1 with new album RISE (Atlantic/Word).

 

The album’s explosive start was fueled by the success of a four-song rollout at iTunes which saw the first two tracks, “Sick Of It” and “American Noise,” both hit No. 1 on the iTunes Rock Songs Chart (and at one point, were No. 1 and 2 on the chart), while the third and fourth-released songs, “Rise” and “Not Gonna Die,” each shot to No. 2. The band has also been building momentum with radio promotion, a social media blitz and festival show performances. The past two weeks Skillet hosted their first ever VIP fan events titled “Road to Rise” in Nashville and Chicago. Kicking off August 13^th at the Jacobs Pavilion at Nautica in Cleveland, the tour will also feature Papa Roach, In This Moment and We As Human.
